Marysville hires new city administrator

MARYSVILLE — Snohomish County’s second-largest city has a new city administrator.

Jennifer Pearson Stapleton has been picked by Marysville’s City Council to lead the city’s administrative branch. Stapleton follows Gloria Hirashima, who spent the last 14 years in the position. Hirashima recently retired after spending 35 years with the city.

The City Council approved the move after a short executive session June 24. A listing for the job put the annual salary between $208,000 and $266,000. Stapleton’s first day on the job is July 15.

“I’m excited to bring our new City Administrator Jennifer Stapleton on board,” Mayor Jon Nehring said in a press release. “She adds considerable experience and expertise to our city team that will be valuable as we continue to prioritize effective and efficient governing practices in serving our community.”
