Opening held for affordable housing project in North Seattle

The Low Income Housing Institute held a grand opening ceremony Feb. 14 for its newest low-income multifamily development, John Fox Place.

The seven-story, 104-unit project, which opened in the fall at 8700 Aurora Ave. N. in North Seattle, is about 80% leased.

Units range from studios to three-bedrooms. Amenities include a play area, classroom, computer lab, community room, rooftop deck and courtyard.

All the project's family-sized units are spoken for, said Sharon Lee, executive director of LIHI, underscoring the need for more such housing.
