Seattle one of the best big cities for biking, report says

Seattle is one of the most bikeable large cities in the U.S., according to a new report.

The city placed No. 3 on PeopleForBike's 2023 rankings, which measured nearly 1,500 small, medium and large cities on how safe and efficient they make it for cyclists to get around.

Seattle ranked immediately in front of Philadelphia on the list and just behind San Francisco. Minneapolis ranks first and Portland is fifth.

For each city, PeopleForBikes looked at how easy it was to access different types of locations by bike: residences, jobs, basic services like grocery stores and hospitals, recreational trails and parks, large retail centers, and major transit hubs.
