Seattle-area home prices have rebounded 17% since start of the year

Single-family home prices in the Puget Sound region continued to fall in May, with King County seeing a year-over-year decline of 8.9%.

That may tempt would-be buyers to stand down in anticipation of further price drops, but that overlooks the fact that since Jan. 1, the median price in King County rose 16.5% to $910,000.

The Northwest Multiple Listing Service on Monday released data for May showing that the story in King played out similarly in other parts of the region.

Snohomish County's median price of $780,000 was down 4.3% year over year but up 11.6% year to date. Pierce saw the median sales price drop 6.4% year over year to $544,990. But that was 5.3% higher than in January.

1. The question is why?

I really don’t think it needs to be prohibitively expensive. The city government needs to revamp everything. It’s imperative they do or they will have only rich living there.
