By Molly Feser April 1, 2022
WILLIAMSBURG A college runner was killed and four others were seriously injured after being hit by a drunk driver on Thursday, March 31.
According to the Virginia State Police (VSP), five members of the Milligan University mens cross country/track and field team were running along Williamsburg Pottery Road near the Lightfoot Road intersection at approximately 6:02 p.m. when they were struck by a red Toyota Scion.
All five members were transported to Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center, where 20-year-old Eli Cramer of Murfreesboro, Tenn. succumbed to his injuries.
Cramer was a student at Milligan University and was in Williamsburg to attend a track meet, VSP stated.

The road they were on is a narrow lane with no lines that cuts from 199 past a campground to the back of the shops that replaced the Williamsburg Pottery.
