BREAKING: An initial win for school boards which have decided to keep universal masking in place. An Arlington judge has granted their request for a temporary restraining order.

The judge writes the case rests on the issue of authority, She finds Gov. Youngkin’s Execuive Order, issued through his emergency powers, can’t override school district policy.

I'll take the win though.

That was what they asked for, so it is a win.

But I want the whole enchilada. Youngkin slapped down on all his crap permanently. That would be a WIN! Unfortunately, I think that his entire tenure will be like this.

And thank goodness to for the blue firewall (currently) in the state senate, we'd really be in a world of hurt.

It's only a temporary restraining order, but I love the fact that it's not a win for Glenn Trumpkin.

I'm so glad the school districts beat him in court, but that doesn't change the fact that this RW buffoon and his staff are going out of their way to stop schools from taking action to protect students and staff.

Seriously, how messed up is your life if your job requires you to draft a legal brief to try and force people not to take important safety precautions???

Youngkin is far from the only RW buffoon who has "going out of their way to stop schools from taking action to protect students and staff." WTF is wrong with these people? #rhetoricalquestion

In her 10-page ruling, DiMatteo agreed with the school boards of Alexandria, Arlington County, Fairfax County, Falls Church City, Hampton Roads, Prince William County and Richmond City that mask mandates should stay in place while the matter continues to be worked out in court.

...The judge said the school boards “will likely succeed” on their claim that Youngkin’s executive order conflicted with, and could not supersede, Virginia law.

In reality, unless desperate, IMO most parents would have someone stay home with sick kids.

That often means someone has to skip working.

That means IMO that Munchkin is anti-worker.
