Filing for city, school elections begins this week

Mansfield will go to the polls in May to elect a mayor, a council member and three Mansfield ISD trustees.

Candidates can file for the May 3 elections from Jan. 15-Feb. 14.

Current Mansfield Mayor Michael Evans was elected to Place 1 in December 2020, and re-elected without opposition in 2022. Evans has been the pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church for more than 30 years.

Council member Tamera Bounds, who works as a physical therapy/rehabilitation director, was elected to Place 2 in 2020, and re-elected in 2022.
