Don't tell me it doesn't count if we're not winning. Just wait.
Comparing the Texas and National Democratic Platforms: Who leads on progressive policies?
https://www.lonestarleft.com/p/texas-democrats-vs-national-democrats
Yesterday, the National Party released its party platform (link below). Ive put it next to the Texas Democratic Party Platform to compare ideals and policy side-by-side. The results are not shocking. (I wasnt surprised.)
Before you get to the comparisons, check out some speeches by Texas Democrats on Day #1 of the DNC in Chicago.
Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo.
There is no question about it. Lina Hidalgo is a rising star within the Democratic Party. Although her speech was short and part of a panel, it was easy to see why Texas Democrats love her so much.

(4,056 posts)1. Texas has provided a few!
LBJ, Ann Richards, and Beto immediately come to mind.

Members of the party in TX (in general) are less progressive than those in the nation as a whole but many of the elected representatives are more progressive due to gerrymandering and otherwise heavily-blue districts
