O'Rourke responds to Abbott's agreement with Chihuahua to reduce delays at ports of entry
Beto O'Rourke, the Democratic nominee for Texas governor, issued a statement in response to Governor Abbott's actions to reduce wait time for truckers at ports of entry.
O'Rourke released the statement after Abbott announced that he made an agreement with the Governor of Chihuahua, Maria Eugenia Campos Galvan, to help reduce the delays truckers from Ciudad Juárez have experienced when they try to cross into the United States.
The delays are the result of a directive Abbott gave to the Texas Department of Public Safety to conduct inspection checks on all trucks.
"Now he wants credit for putting out the fire by announcing these ridiculous security agreements. Texans arent buying it and we'll never forget the chaos Abbott has caused to our economy and our border communities," said O'Rourke.
