'What are you so afraid of?': Despite Clemson protest, Tomi Lahren speaks on BLM, law enforcement

GREENVILLE -- Conservative activist and talk show host Tomi Lahren hit back at the 200 protestors -- most of whom were Clemson students -- who gathered outside Turning Point USA 's "Back the Blue" event Thursday evening.

"We should all be able to have the freedom of speech, we should all be able to defend all of our rights. That's why I don't understand events like this that people are outside protesting," Lahren said to a crowd of about 1,000 in Littlejohn Coliseum. "What are you so afraid? They're afraid of the truth."

Her comments earned raucous applause from the crowd.

As Lahren spoke to a crowd of about 1,000 people, more than 200 Clemson University students and the Upstate chapter of the Original Black Panther Party protested the event, which was held on Clemson's campus to support law enforcement.

"There's a lot of people that really, really did not want me here," Lahren, a South Dakota native, said. She spoke alongside Brandon Tatum and Graham Allan Thursday.

It really works well, as it validates and legitimizes their thoughts and like mindedness. Then, that camaraderie can be directed to whatever enemy can be conjured.

There will always be those who are weak in heart and head and succumb to the easy way back to personal peace and happiness.
