at my county's courthouse. I didn't know if we'd be able to request a mail ballot, get one, fill it and return it right there, but we could. I got my ballot, filled in the ovals, put it in the ballot envelope, signed and dated the outer envelope, turned it in at the counter, got it time stamped and filed for counting on election day.
The redesigned envelopes are straight forward with a large, clear blocks for signature and date with the year 2024 prefilled in so all voters have to enter is month and day. Security envelope is yellow with black stripes like caution tape.
There were about 20 people or so in the line, the two behind me were infrequent voters. I judged the other voters to be more Trumpy than not, older white men and women although that's a pretty generic description of all of Beaver county.
ETA, also took a little ride around to gauge the yard sign battle. On my usual routes, it was about 3 Trump houses for every 2 Harris ones, but that's an improvement from the 3 or 4 to 1 from a couple weeks ago. On my drive to courthouse in the town of Beaver, which is our county seat, Harris signs probably outnumbered Trump ones at least 2 to 1. Beaver is usually an R stronghold, so the Harris signs are encouraging.
