Delmont police: Man in rainbow wig with gun taken into custody outside Dairy Queen
Delmont police said charges have been filed after a person was taken into custody outside a Dairy Queen store on Route 66 on Saturday.
In a statement, police said this started with a 911 call about an "erratic driver" on Route 66. Police said the caller reported seeing a man wearing a safety vest and rainbow clown wig get out of his vehicle with a gun in his hand before walking into Dairy Queen.
Police say an officer who was in the area met the man as he was coming out of the store and took him into custody without incident. Police say the man had a loaded .40 caliber handgun in his pocket, and that a search found two more loaded handguns in his vehicle.
"The male continued to state that he was 'undercover' and then stated he was 'working to restore Trump to President King of the United States' and that he was armed to 'kill Democrats and liberals' and protect himself from 'drug traffickers,'" police said in the statement.
Police said there were several people inside and outside Dairy Queen at the time. No injuries were reported.
Police have not identified the suspect, and a criminal complaint was not available Tuesday.
