A man confronted in 2013 by a shotgun-wielding John Fetterman then mayor of Braddock, now lieutenant governor and running for the U.S. Senate claims Mr. Fetterman has "lied about everything" that happened that day.
But Christopher Miyares, writing from a state prison in Somerset County, also told The Inquirer that incident should not stop Mr. Fetterman from becoming a senator.
"Even with everything I said, it is inhumane to believe one mistake should define a man's life," Miyares wrote in one of two letters sent to The Inquirer. "I hope he gets to be a Senator." (That last line was underlined three times.)
The shotgun incident long has been discussed in political circles as Mr. Fetterman's career soared. But it has drawn new attention amid the racial reckoning stoked after the police killing of George Floyd and as Mr. Fetterman, a favorite of progressives, emerged as the early Democratic front-runner in a race next year that could determine control of the Senate.

(24,989 posts)Nice that we publicize it here. So we have one account of the incident from a right wing newspaper no less the Post Gazette, where is Fetterman's account of the incident?
I expect we will see many more anti-Fetterman threads here since he is on track to flip a Republican Senate seat.
The freaking guy was mayor of Braddock, how about we ask those people what kind of job Fetterman did as mayor?
These posts make me ill with all due respects.
Is there anything pre 2013 that we can find about Fetterman? The Post Gazette will find it if it's there.

(116,592 posts)It's also open for interpretation as to whether bringing us this incident either helps or harms Fetterman. If the man involved in the incident with Fetterman can look past what happened to say that Fetterman should run, then I think that helps.
I regret that the article doesn't meet up to your standards, but perhaps you should contact Chris Brennan at the Philadelphia Inquirer to see why he didn't include Fetterman's side of the story or the people in Braddock to provide an endorsement for Fetterman.
I post the threads in the state groups because I am trying to promote Democratic candidates for office. While I have some knowledge of what papers are considered on the left vs., on the right, I don't keep a running list of which side each reporter or editorial writer belongs. Occasionally, I might post an OP and learn that the source was dubious, but I do not have a vendetta against Fetterman.

(9,807 posts)So we can better fight the propaganda and bullshit. I'd much rather hear it here first, because I'm reasonably sure of also getting more of the truth and the facts. We should never be afraid to look the evil in the face and call it out. We're not the snowflakes in this world, they are.

(11,887 posts)used by the right to drive a wedge between him and a key Democratic group it should be evaluated. You know the right and probably their backers in Russia will exploit it.
