Dauphin County postal employee pleads guilty to mail theft

A postal worker in Dauphin County pleaded guilty to three counts of theft of mail by an employee, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Candy Ehler, 51, of Harrisburg, entered the plea Monday.

Investigators said they confirmed a pattern of missing medication packages – which contained opioid-based controlled substances ... Brandler said video surveillance at the post office showed Ehler removing three medication packages that weren’t on her primary route.

Ehler will be sentenced after the court considers the applicable federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, Brandler said. She is facing a maximum of 15 years in prison and a $750,000 fine.
