Worley & Obetzs former CEO, controller charged with using company funds to pay $1M in personal credit card debt
The former CEO and controller of Worley & Obetz were charged Monday in a $1 million scam to pay the CEOs personal credit debt, the Lancaster County district attorney's office announced.
Jeffrey B. Lyons, former CEO, and Karen L. Connelly, controller for the Manheim-based energy company before retiring in 2016, were taken into custody Monday, according to the district attorney's office.
Charges stem from years of theft from Worley & Obetz, District Attorney Craig Stedman said during a press conference Monday afternoon.
The matter was brought to law enforcements attention by the controller who replaced Connelly in 2016 and noticed irregularities in the payments, Stedman said.
