Police Issue Warning To Parents After Increase In Children Blocking Roads, Cursing At DriversBENSALEM, Pa. (CBS) Bensalem Police are warning parents of a trend where children on bikes block the road so vehicles are unable to pass, then proceed to yell profanities at drivers.
Police say a group of children deliberately impeded the movement of vehicles on the roadway recently. Police originally warned about this in April. Police say they are taking the appropriate actions to hold the individuals involved accountable.
Police also warn parents that if their child is involved, they could also be cited by police. Police are also subject to confiscating the bicycle.
The department is dedicated to ending this problem before someone gets seriously hurt.
Any residents involved in an incident like this, please dial 9-1-1 to report it immediately.

Yes, I know that's no laughing matter, but I have read elsewhere that current events -- and you know who I mean -- are having this effect on people. I have to say that -- well, no, I don't have to say that.

(6,322 posts)Kids of 8 or 9 years, mostly girls, would jump in front of cars to make them stop. Amid lots of yelling and screaming, sometimes one would slam the side of the car with their hand to make a sound like the car had hit someone. I could see this from my yard, stopped it a couple of times, but it took a community effort to finally end the problem.
The girls became all cute and giggly when confronted, thought it was great sport. This kind of behavior was around 60 years ago when I was that age, but it was usually boys of 11-13 in my day.
