Don't use eclipse glasses from Dutch Bros -- even if you read they're safe

Did you get free eclipse glasses from Dutch Bros? Don't risk using them.

Dutch Bros took back assurances that the eclipse glasses the local coffee chain handed out are safe.

Dutch Bros had said a misprint of the ISO rating made the glasses appear suspect. The company countered the questioning by posting a certification letter on Facebook.

"Our glasses are perfectly safe," spokesman Levi Aryss said. "We don't want anyone to feel unsafe for a moment."

Just now saw the warning on a local TV station website. Amazon did a recall recently on some they'd sold. I ordered ours from them, fortunately they're legit. I live very close to the Totality Zone, and will observe this wondrous event up close and personal, then run to the nearby Dutch Bros and enjoy a Mocha Dutch Freeze. With whipped cream. Yum.

Peace and blessings.

The consequences of using the defective glasses are serious enough that I would guilty not spreading the word. You've also made me thirsty with the mention of the Mocha Dutch Freeze. Happy sky-watching to you!

I made a pinhole viewer with some paper and a pin...about 10 seconds. I also used the "filter through trees to leave images on the ground method, which was even better.

It's over. I have the urge to head out to the highway with a yellow vest, some orange cones, a bullhorn and some sort of flag to wave everybody out and back home so I can go back to life as usual.

It's time to get off my lawn, lol.
