A newspaper in McCurtain County, Oklahoma has released audio of county leaders discussing plans to kill one of their reporters and lynch Black people.

The audio is the first of three that the McCurtain Gazette-News says it will be releasing. The audio was recorded after a March 6 meeting of the county's board of commissioners.

The Oklahoman has obtained the audio, but has not independently verified the content's authenticity. Here is who can be heard speaking in the over two minutes of dialogue, and a transcript of what was said.

1. Considering how much the Sheriff has squawked about

it and is trying to say that it was doctored I would say that the odds of the recordings being legit are pretty good.

SE Oklahoma, particularly in the woods, is right out of Deliverance. A lot of pot growing up in the woods. I know someone who used to work for the County Commissioners Oklahoma and anytime that he went to that part of the state he went armed.
