Broken Arrow businesswoman pleads to stealing millions from former employer; agrees to forfeit yacht, condo and other assets
A Broken Arrow businesswoman pleaded guilty in federal court Tuesday to embezzling more than $2.75 million from her former employer.
Cristyne Denise Gilleland, 41, admitted to one count of wire fraud and one count of subscribing a false tax return in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma. The charges were filed Aug. 16.
A plea agreement with federal prosecutors, which has not yet been accepted by the court, calls for Gilleland to serve a sentence ranging from 18 months to 24 months in prison.
Gilleland, who is not in custody, admitted to embezzling the money from 2010 to 2017 while working for TJT Enterprises LLC, an Inola-based company owned by Tommy Thompson.
