OH-SEN: Local labor leaders, workers host 'Workers for Sherrod' campaign event in Mansfield
MANSFIELD Thursday, Workers for Sherrod co-chairs Ohio State Building and Construction Trades Council Executive Secretary-Treasurer Mike Knisley and Ohio AFL-CIO President Tim Burga joined USW Local 169 President Steve Ackerman and IBEW 688 Business Manager and Financial Secretary Brian McPeek to host a Workers for Sherrod statewide tour stop in Mansfield.
The Workers for Sherrod statewide tour is highlighting Sherrods record delivering for Ohio workers and fighting for the Dignity of Work, the belief that hard work should pay off for everyone, with stops across Ohio. Ohio workers are lining up behind Sherrod, citing his fight to save the pensions of over 100,000 Ohio workers and his commitment to making sure every family has a path to the middle class.
Sherrod fought to include the strongest ever Buy America provisions in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to make sure that our bridges, roads, and runways like those at Mansfield Lahm Regional Airport are made by American workers with materials made right here in America, said Ohio State Building and Construction Trades Council Executive Secretary Treasurer Mike Knisley.
Beyond his legislative achievements, Sherrods investment in the next generation through apprenticeship programs and summer manufacturing camps is commendable. He is working to create more careers in the Trades where Ohioans have a path to the middle class accessible to everyone. Under Sherrods leadership, the lives of Ohioans are undeniably better.
