GOV. ROY COOPER ANNOUNCED A PLAN FOR REOPENING NC SCHOOLS. HERE'S WHAT IT MEANS FOR PARENTS AND STUDENTS.

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- In a news conference Tuesday, Gov. Roy Cooper announced that North Carolina will reopen schools with both in-person and online education.

Previously, Cooper encouraged school districts to prepare three reopening plans: completely in-person education, a mix of in-person and online education, and completely online education.

The plans were as follows:
Plan A means there will need to be minimal social distancing
Plan B means that there would need to be increased social distancing with schools at no more than 50 percent and buses at no more than 33 percent capacity
Plan C means remote instruction only.

On Monday, he said that the state will move forward with Plan B. He also said school districts have the option to choose Plan C if it's best for them.

I guess Cooper is too terrified of the GOP legislature to act sensibly. NC's number are going in the wrong direction and new infections have only fallen once, week-over-week, since March 1st.

4. I'm hoping that is exactly what reasonable people will do.

This will only prove to be like throwing gasoline on a fire. I'm extremely disappointed and sad to see this.

I wonder how many children will be sickened and suffer life long trauma as a result of the adults in their lives effectively sacrificing them to a dangerous situation while denying them any say so in the matter.

I wonder what the children, if allowed to respond, would have to say to the adults about this decision. It's like throwing them into a pit of hungry lions. I hope they live to shame us for our disregard and recklessness.
