The two hospital systems in town are "Wake Forest Baptist" (now part of Atrium Health) and Novant. Both are close by and both can handle emergencies/trauma. No word on how serious the injury was.

On edit - It was Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center

and the young man who shot the studnet has been arrested. Tough day for WSFCSchools. I teach at Parkland on the south side of W-S. My 11th graders had been at lunch for all of 10 minutes when Parkland High School was placed on LockDown. Sherriff Deputys were patrolling our campus, our hallways, we felt safe. About 2:45 all students were moved to the Gym, faculty supervising as we waited for buses to return to our campus and take our kids home. I work the bus lot in the afternoons and our team did not get all the kids on buses and sent home until about 4:50....kids live streaming the lockdown, most were quiet and hunkered down in a corner of my classroom. They did well, most wore their masks, but cramming 1200+ kids into the gym and faculty/staff to supervise them while waiting for the buses, Covid wasn't far from what some of us were worried about...Some of the kids in the gym were not wearing their masks and some were hanging their noses out of their masks so regardless of how vigilant we are trying to be here at school the virus is stalking us and our school safe will not be open much longer I suspect, we will lose this battle for live classrooms...Here comes the return to the digital classroom and distance learning.....Tough Day at Parkland but not as hard as Mt Tabor had it.
