All candidates sound good in their campaign advertisements. In the Democratic Presidential Primary, I already know who is best qualified with the least FBI baggage. It's the other candidates, who are new to me.

(7,419 posts)"Democrat Party" is a slur used by Republicans. It's what they call, to a person, the Democratic Party. Why? Because they're grade school children playing grown up.
Thank you.

(112,782 posts)Most of them, at least here in the big city, have websites. Yeah, they're all Honest John, so read the fine print. Some stances on issues are bright red flags that alert you to GOP-lite candidates, like opposition to choice and LGBT rights.
Also ask your neighbors if you don't live in one of the GOP enclaves in this town.
A lot of the Democrats out here are more conservative than they were in Boston, but not by much. This is a pretty good state to live in because of that.

(15,235 posts)It will assuredly reduce the number of public restrooms available to Albuquerque. It will also create public outrage in more demographic groups than progressives are expecting, which could drive them straight to the Republican Party, for solutions.

(60,797 posts)So what you need to do is review facts and make sure they are facts, not propaganda. It can be difficult to determine between them sometimes.
You need to then look at what those facts are going to do to or for you and the country. Look at what the candidates say they will do and then look at how likely it is they could accomplish their promises. Grand plans may not be possible because of many factors such as cost, political climate and public opinion.
It's your vote, don't let one side or the other make it for you. Vote what is in your best interest.

Governor Martinez and our Republican mayor were smart enough to distance themselves from Trump. On edit, I am registered as a Democrat. I was reading that far more 17 year-old voters registered as Democrats than Republicans. Also, several hundred young voters were not allowed to register as undeclared, which will probably make them angry at Republicans, who appear to be ruining (oops another spelling error) New Mexico.
