Political satirist and pianist Charles Tichenor in Santa Fe

So I’m visiting Santa Fe on business and it’s Saturday night and I happened to wander into Los Magueyes in Burro Alley for dinner. There’s a guy singing and playing the piano. The melody is “Sound of Silence” by Simon and Garfunkel. I’m busy perusing the menu when I realize he’s changed the lyrics and is singing about Trump tweets! The rest of the evening is a mix of edgy political satire dealing with school shootings, transgender politics, opioid addiction, and of course Trump. It was astonishing. Some folks in the crowd applauded and some looked angry.

If you’re in Santa Fe on a Friday or Saturday night, go hear him. The food is so-so but the entertainment is stellar.
