CARSON CITY Amid national concerns from the president that voter fraud is rampant, a Reno assemblywoman introduced a bill requiring voter identification at the polls.
Assemblywoman Lisa Krasner, R-Reno, introduced Assembly Bill 164 on Monday that would mandate voters show identification when voting. The bill also contains a provision the Department of Motor Vehicles to provide voter identification cards at no cost if a person can't afford it.
I think that Republicans, Democrats, nonpartisans alike care about voter integrity, Krasner said.
Voter fraud has been a national issue for some time, but became a focal point of Republican President Donald Trump, who has claimed the only reason he lost the popular vote by around 3 million votes was illegal votes in California, New Hampshire and several other states, all for his opponent Democrat Hillary Clinton.

(45,806 posts)in Ga. there are quite a few very senior voters who never had a birth certificate because they were born at home, never had a drivers license, and have been refused a voter ID many times. I have no problem with demanding ID as long as what info is demanded is readily available too ALL PEOPLE!

Again, to register to vote you have to show ID then
It's all repug bullshit designed to provide them with yet another step to gum up the process of making it easy to vote, and thus, suppress votes.
