Democrat Kara Eastman announced endorsements Friday in her bid to become the Democratic nominee for Nebraskas 2nd Congressional District.
One of them, City Council President Ben Gray, said he first met Eastman through her work with Omaha Healthy Kids Alliance, a nonprofit that aims to eliminate lead poisoning.
She has been working tirelessly in this community, and in particular northeast Omaha, in an effort to address the environmental needs of young people in our community, he said.
Also endorsing Eastman at a press conference were: fellow Metropolitan Community College board member Dave Pantos, who is also her finance director; State Sen. Tony Vargas; former Omaha school board President Freddie Gray; and Public Service Commissioner Crystal Rhoades.
