40 second video at link
Michelle Dralle shared the video with us and said she spotted the elk from her kitchen window around 10 a.m. on Wednesday. She caught the elk as they crossed South Cottonwood Road and says they were still coming after five minutes of filming them.
Michelle estimates there were at least 1,000 elk and says, "This is why we all live here. Enjoy!"

(24,127 posts)have eaten all the elk. Looking at about 30 of them basking in the sun on the hill near my house right now.

(4,156 posts)Immediately behind them was the National Forest. The down slope side abutted the Heckendorf State Wildlife Area, winter home to a herd of 400+ elk. My father put out salt licks and food pellets for them.
They enjoyed many years watching these beautiful animals.

(94,208 posts)Won't play for me. But I know that road like the back of my hand, I take it every time I head south around the edge of the park on my way to Idaho.
Yeah, Like MM says, too many clowns around here try to claim the wolves ate them all, I spent years debunking that spurious claim. Wolves just make them move around like they are supposed to instead of hanging around like cattle.
That was awesome to watch
