Prosecutor says hes reviewing results of Highway Patrol probe of lawmaker accused of having sex as on-duty cop
JEFFERSON CITY An investigation into claims a state lawmaker had sex with a drunk teenager as an on-duty police officer has been turned over to the Pike County prosecutor, a spokesman for the Missouri State Highway Patrol said on Thursday.
The spokesman said the agency had turned over the results of its investigation to Pike County Prosecuting Attorney Alex Ellison.
The
Post-Dispatch reported in May on a police report from Frankford police Chief Josh Baker that said current state Rep. Chad Perkins (R) allegedly accepted sexual favors from a teenage girl while on duty as a police officer in 2015. Perkins was a Bowling Green police officer at the time of the alleged incident and later went on to work for the Pike County Sheriffs Office.
Documents the newspaper obtained also contained numerous references to Pike County Sheriff Stephen Korte allegedly attempting to block an investigation.
