Pool question being posed to Zumbrota voters during primary election
ZUMBROTA, Minn. (KTTC) A volunteer-based organization called Board for Building a New Pool in Zumbrota is asking voters to okay a new swimming pool for the city on this years primary ballota project has been in the works for years.
According to the boards chairperson, Meg James, the citys current swimming pool was built in 1971 and is no longer operational.
Were asking the citizens of Zumbrota to come together and vote to support our community and create a place where kids can swim and take swimming lessonswhere families can come and people can generally recreate, she said. We went through 22 proposals and finally landed on the 22nd proposal.
According to the referendum, the new pool would feature a new bathhouse, diving board, and deck slide among other new features. The project is estimated to cost around $4.2 million, with the referendum requesting $3 million from residents The group stated tax implications will be around $17 a month per household.
