A Grosse Pointe North High School teacher delivered an impassioned resignation speech at Monday nights Board of Education meeting.
You dont respect us. If you respected us youd listen to us. You dont appreciate us. If you did you wouldnt make our jobs literally impossible to do. If you cared you would pretend youre listening, at least. said Sean McCaroll.
McCaroll went on to criticize the lack of response from the school board over emails he sent regarding concerns over the return to face-to-face learning in the district, as well as formally announcing his resignation.

... (two brothers, a sister-in-law, daughter and son-in-law) only my s-i-l is still teaching after four years. One brother became an administrator to get out of classrooms.

Hopefully, hell find a way to stay in education but make some real needed changes.

(63,370 posts)3. note that the person with the most contact with the customer in any business
in the US is almost always the least paid, and most ignored employee in the company.
In this case the teacher is the closest contact to the children and their parents. Teachers are frequently ignored by any one in management from principals on up.
You can make the case the same is true in most any American business you can name.
