(Detroit Metro Times) Yesterday, President Trump stood in front of thousands at the White House for the Stop the Steal rally and instructed his supporters to march to the U.S. Capitol, where they then attacked law enforcement officers and broke into the federal building. Incited by false allegations of a stolen election, the terrorist attack resulted in four deaths and over 50 arrests.
However, despite all of this, 147 Republican lawmakers still stood by their decision to stand in the way of certifying the presidential election, and perpetuate a lie that directly ultimately ended in violence.
....(snip)....
Here are the three Michigan Republicans who, despite the first non-peaceful transfer of power in 220 years because of Trumps baseless rhetoric, still voted to sustain one or both objections:
Rep. Jack Bergman of Watersmeet
Rep. Lisa McClain of Bruce Township
Rep. Tim Walberg of Tipton
The decision by these politicians to support a failed Trump-led coup has resulted in progressive lawmakers demanding accountability for the GOP colleagues who were complicit in yesterdays attack. ............(more)

(1,155 posts)I assume the representatives in question mirror the politics and beliefs of their districts. If so the districts will only reelect them as long as the district boundaries and demographics remain in place.
I live in her district and she sure as hell doesn't represent my interests! Of course it goes without saying that I didn't vote for her or any GOPer. I read an article in the Macomb Daily just now where she is backtracking and trying to justify her seditious vote. It's classic "let me sweep this under the rug", "we need to move forward", blah, blah.
I want her gone! Only one week in office and that's what she chose to do? Can we trust any of her choices going forward? I've already emailed her what I thought of her choice vote. We need more people to call for some sort of punishment (hopefully expulsion).
There is plenty of crookedness that goes on in northern Macomb County elections. The GOP has a stranglehood on our area. It used to be strongly Democratic when I first moved here and we had David Bonior as our rep. Then the gerrymandering began.

(1,386 posts)Gretchen Driskell has now lost 3 straight races to Tim Walberg. Have to find a better candidate next time.
Beat that Birther Walberg. He's an embarrassment.
