Which hopefully means that by election day, they just have to press a button and all the mail in ballots will be counted immediately.

GF will be working at the polls, so I don’t want her to have to work all night and the next day.
Thanks.

Either way I'm pretty sure processing will only be occurring during business hours. But I don't know.

I guess I am not following the logic, if you wait and vote in person on election day, that ballot can't be counted until then either. I don't see how it's a benefit....they both have to be counted, and neither one can be counted until election day.

to count them. Each one has to be checked to match the voters signature.

They check the signature for in person voting as well. I am not being critical, I'm concerned just like everyone else. I travel for work, so have voted absentee for years..... this year is the first time I have ever been concerned about the vote not counting.
I'm not sure, but I don't believe Michigan has any sort of ballot tracker. I am hopeful that the SOS is on her job and everything will go smoothly.

I've never encountered a long line at my precinct so I'll get there at about 9. BUT I'll bring a book along, just in case. They just relocated

I will feel much better watching my ballot slide into that scanner, and watch it confirmed as valid.

and I enjoy walking over to vote. Never a crowd here either. Just want to make sure I’m doing it the best way to get Joe and Kamala in and make it easy for the poll workers. COVID is not bad at this end of the county. CMU is at the other end.
I wonder if all of the Deplorables will be maskless?

and by voting in person, you won't speed up the process as precincts won't report in till all the eligible mail in ballot are counted.
