Which lawyer might Whitmer pick for the Michigan Supreme Court?

Two prominent Michigan Democrats who declined to be identified because of the sensitivity of the deliberations said they had been told Samuel Bagenstos, a University of Michigan law professor who worked in former President Joe Biden's administration, and Dan Korobkin, legal director of the ACLU of Michigan, were among the candidates for the Michigan Supreme Court position.....

Mark Totten, the former U.S. attorney in the Western District of Michigan who was previously Whitmer's chief legal counsel, and Christina Grossi, the governor's current chief legal counsel, might also be under consideration......

Steven Liedel, a lawyer with the firm Dykema who served as general counsel to Whitmer's transition team, said governors often consider sitting judges on the Court of Appeals.......

Potential candidates for the Supreme Court from the Court Appeals are Judges Kristina Robinson Garrett, Allie Greenleaf Maldonado and Noah Hood.
