I hope everybody is surviving/has survived that gnarly line of storms unscathed!

The tornado sirens went off for a good half here in Lansing. There was a lot of wind, some wicked lightning and thunder, and my WiFi went out for about 10 minutes, but that's it around my place. The biggest casualties were my cats' nerves when my weather radio went off, and the scratch on my leg when Rosie, who was sitting on my lap, launched herself to run under the table.

I feel bad for the folks up north with the ice storm followed by severe thunderstorm winds. There's gonna be a lot of tree and powerline damage, I'm afraid.

Springtime in Michigan.

A 5 on a scale of 1 fo 5 by forecasters.

Then next week, 3-4 days straight of storms. Typical of this place.

Stay safe, All!

Which region is having ice storms?

bordering Lakes Michigan and Huron. Some inland counties about 50 miles south of the Straits of Mackinac (separates the peninsulas) got a lot of ice, too.

Tornado warnings both north and south of us (Kalamazoo county), but somehow we skated through even without severe wind damage.

Hope you all fare similarly!

My neighborhood had some strong winds, but not scary strong. Saw a few lightning bolts but nothing was close. Just before it got dark I saw I rainbow.

It was pretty intense for several minutes there. We even got some pea-size hail.

Lights flickered on and off, but they're on right now.

I'm in California, and the storm that just passed had incredible wind gusts, lots of rain.

Lots of strong winds and heavy rain for about 15 min late afternoon. Lost power about 5 hrs ago, still out. No real damage at my place, but lots of trees down with some blocking roads, relocated sheds and garden furniture, damaged roofs, damaged business signs, etc in the region. Tens of thousands without power in the Michiana area.
