I just got one for Feb. 9. I was sorta looking forward to getting it at Fenway but it's not available there yet.

(71 posts)My wife is a Paramedic and cancer patient, she just got her 2nd shot. She also just got over covid late November and I had to take her into ER to get a steroid shot because of breathing issues. She is high risk for 2 reasons.
I am 51, no underlying conditions and very healthy, covid was an extremely weak cold for me. I also took care of her for 2 weeks and sucked in a heavy viral load and my immunity held.
I want everyone who is like my wife or anyone that is not as healthy as me to get their shots first. I wear a mask, take all the precautions but am not overly worried about catching it again. I can wait for supply to be plentiful, worried about others getting theirs.

(71 posts)Are why I will not get vaccinated until everyone else has had ample opportunity. Had the same Dr since age 15 and he has always commented on how strong my immune system is, called me a freak of nature!🤣
I have had friends who have died, friends and family in ICU on and others off and on a ventilator. My wife needed steroids to bring down the inflammation in her lungs so she could breathe and I got the sniffles! I would personally take Covid again over the common cold or flu, seriously!
God gave me a genetic gift and I can in no way rationalize taking a vaccine for something that just made me sleepy. In front of everyone else! My dose is donated to more worthy people.
Thank you for your best wishes to my wife and I, very appreciated! I wish good health and fortune on you and your!

(4,533 posts)Each Wednesday morning our Northern CA county opens up 500 appointments. There are other appointments at other places for anyone 65 or older but not enough for everyone over 65. I googled my county name followed by covid vaccine to find out where to register. Kaiser is only doing 75 or older for now so I cheated on them and signed up thru the county. I read that for those 65 to 75 the single moderna shot is 86% effective. The second shot in 28 days gets up to 95%. Help is on the way.
