Rip currents close several Cape beaches to swimming
Published 2:52 PM EDT Aug 10, 2015

ORLEANS, Mass. —Several Cape Cod beaches were closed to swimming Monday because of rip currents, according to officials.

Chief Parks Ranger Leslie Reynolds said red flags are flying at Coast Guard Beach in Eastham; Nauset Light Beach in Eastham; Marconi Beach in Wellfleet; and at Head of the Meadow Beach in Truro.

Nauset Beach in Orleans is also closed to swimming, police said.

A red flag means there are dangerous conditions and beachgoers are only allowed in the water up to their ankles.
