For anyone who's interested...

at the Middle East, downstairs:

Both groups were fronted by the same person (David Lowery), both incredibly underrated in my humble opinion.

A primer:

I saw Camper Van Beethoven, like... of Goddess, 25 years ago?... and they did a cover of King Crimson's Red, wild stuff. Here's King Crimson playing it...

Something we agree on, Manny!

I love both bands. I have a friend that promotes and books an 80s weekend every year at a local park. He gets a bunch of 80s bands and celebs, and it's a fun time. We discussed doing a 90s one, and tried to book Cracker and/or Camper. Ended up being a bit too pricey, but I did get to catch Cracker outside of a local Irish pub in our downtown area. So awesome.

We saw Cheap Trick a few months ago, they were way better than I expected. Also the English Beat, excellent, small venue.

(And welcome to the dark side. Agreeing with me on anything is a slippery slope that can only end in tragedy.)

Warrant, RATT, LA Guns, Dokken (who was a TOTAL douche, might I add)... But we also got Bow Wow Wow, Corey Heart, Tommy Tutone, Georgia Satellites, and Adam Ant.

I'm more of a 90s guy, so I'd love to see some great 90s acts at a show, but they still demand a premium that we can't do around here.

It's like $20/day, or $50 for all 3. $75 for all 3 with VIP. It's pretty cheap for a 3-day music fest.
