When Christmas was banned in Boston



Yes, Virginia, Christmas was banned in Massachusetts for over two decades by our Puritan forefathers.

The Puritans who settled the Massachusetts colony thought that Christmas "reminded them of the Church of England and the old-world customs, which they were trying to escape," according to the Massachusetts Travel Journal.
