Watching Martha Coakley live in debate...

She's going to lose this election to that Republican slime ball.

She's looking scared, cowered over, spineless. Who the heck did her hair? She's looking like a 50 year old trying to look 25. The tone of her arguments comes out as whines, not solid assertions.

Charlie slime ball is looking like a college freshman with his cute blond hair.

Oh, this is not flamebait, I agree with Martha and will vote for her. I can't stand Charlie.

But this debate is so poorly framed for Martha.

Whoever set this up, didn't study the nature of television optics. Martha is losing this debate on optics alone.

3. Talking about DCF, but Baker sounds totally technocratic and without heart.

His lack of empathy killed him in 2010. Coakley is less good than Patrick, but she is still better than he is.

4. I agree, Baker is "incredibly cold".

That's no secret.

But, as Martha is CERTAINLY "good and professional", she is NOT LOOKING that way tonight.

Personally, I think Martha is a victim of both the television optics tonight and of the Patrick missteps over the last year, child deaths, etc.

Martha should have learned (in this point in her career) how to speak "professional", not with a whine in every argument she makes.

5. By the way, please watch NECN's NH Senate debate at 8 PM

Between that OTHER slime ball Scott Brown and Jeanne Shaheen for the Senate.

Watch Jeanne Shaheen deliver her arguments NOT as whines, but as pride in accomplishments, and laughing at the arrogance of Brown to think he should deserve to run in NH for U.S. Senate.

Of course, NH is not Mass, and we cannot predict how much Obama hatred has invaded that state.

I'll wind up with a shattered flat screen, and then I'll be even more pissed.

Oh, how I despise that POS Scott Brown.

a long term weekly client of the "Hair Club for Men"?

He's a 55 year old guy trying to look like a 20 year old football jock.

Such an F*n FAKE!

As a life long Dem, I will vote for Coakley. Can't say I'm enthusiastic about it. Somehow, in my eyes, she just does not measure up. I have no other choice, wish I did.

9. I heartily disagree that she did not come off well in that debate

"Just don't call me sweetheart!" worked rather well, I thought!

10. How the hell does Coakley keep getting the nominations?

This woman is simply not likeable. She lost to Scott Brown because she is not likeable and this race is tight because she is not likeable. Why the hell is she even the candidate?

I think the Democrats in Mass have been asleep at the switch ever since Elizabeth Warren won.

She's a hell of a lot more likeable than Charlie Baker, and seems to care about "the little people" more than him.

Here's something that may give you a reason to like her

I wish they had stepped up to the plate.
Coakley comes off as cold and robotic. I wish she would smile once in a while, show some personality. Yes, she will get my vote but reluctantly. Wish it was someone else.
Perhaps her platform is great but I have trouble even listening to her. She comes off (to me) as a cold and driven woman.

Maybe it is my old age but I sure would like to smile when I hear her speak.

14. No need to preach to the choir here, we will voter for her

But I just wish someone would teach her how to appear on TV to 2 million people in Mass who watch clips from this, or who watched the whole thing.

On the issues, of course she is right.

On the optics and presentation, especially to new voters, 18-30 year olds, people who just moved here, etc. .....

She looks LOUSY on camera in a debate.
