Project Homeless Connect at BCC helps those in need access assistance services

FALL RIVER — It was difficult to tell those in need from those seeking to fill the needs.

On Friday at Bristol Community College, Project Homeless Connect tried to bring services to those with needs, including the homeless, those at risk of becoming homeless and those who are almost making it but need a little assistance.

By coincidence, Friday’s event coincided with the monthly food bank distribution held on the west side of the campus, just off Elsbree Street.

Long tables were loaded with melons, cabbage, cauliflower, rice cakes, carrots, vegetarian “chicken nuggets,” yogurt, smoked salmon and other foods.

In December each year I give donations to various charities; Project Bread gets the biggest chunk.
