In addition to ensuring your emergency kit is ready, now is a great time to check to see if you live in a hurricane evacuation zone. These zones, most notably on the Eastern Shore and around the Chesapeake Bay, encompass roughly 275,000 Maryland residents living in the areas most vulnerable to severe storms. Zones are designated A through C and provide residents with clarity on whether they should evacuate in an emergency, or shelter at home based on their physical street address and the nature of the emergency event.

(24,089 posts)Usually by this time there's been a number of tropical storms and maybe a hurricane (or 2), but nothing so far. Good news for us who live in hurricane territory or nearby.
