Thomas V. Mike Miller Jr., the nation’s longest-serving state-senate president and a pillar of Maryland government for nearly a half-century, died Jan. 15 at his home in Chesapeake Beach, Md. He was 78. The cause was complications from prostate cancer, said family spokesman Jake Weissmann.'>>>
