Calvert County Public Schools in Favor of Continuing Online in the Fall;

Virtual Town Hall Meeting July 23.

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. - The Board of Education of Calvert County Public Schools will host a virtual town hall on July 23 to address the opening of school year 2020-2021. The virtual town hall will begin at 3:30 and may be viewed on the school system website on the Board of Education tab: www.calvertnet.k12.md.us.

To ensure the safety of staff and students during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Board is in favor of starting the year online for all students. The town hall will begin with a presentation from staff designed to describe how online learning will look this fall and how it will differ from what students experienced in the spring. Following the presentation, listeners will be given directions to email questions that were not addressed during the meeting for CCPS staff or the Board to answer.

On Friday, July 24, the Board will hold a newly scheduled meeting. The meeting will begin at 1:00 and may also be viewed on the website. This special meeting is expected to result in a final decision of the Board so that the staff may continue with proper planning for the new school year.'
