Severe T-storm Warning in effect for New Orleans area, flash flooding

NWS New Orleans @NWSNewOrleans

4:20PM: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for portions of the Southshore, which includes the New Orleans area. Wind gusts in excess of 60mph is the main concern, along with more rainfall which may likely lead to more flooding concerns.

I've seen it rain buckets and the pumps usually keep up pretty well. Ten minutes after the rain stops all the water is gone.

There's bodacious thunderstorms all over the eastern U.S. today, from Maine down to Texas. Everywhere except where they really need the rain out west, unfortunately.
