Bevin says women will vote Trump, bashes judge
Gov. Matt Bevin said Tuesday he was offended by Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump's comments about groping women but seemed even more offended by Trump's critics during an interview with WHAS Radio's Terry Meiners on Tuesday afternoon. The governor made his first public statement about the controversial Trump comments, made a case for why Trump should be elected president, and also doubled down on his attacks against a Franklin Circuit Court judge during the interview.
Here are some of Bevin's comments from the interview:
On Trump's comments about groping women:
I found it offensive as everybody else did. Ive not met one person who didnt find it offensive...Was it inappropriate? Of course. It was foul. It was vulgar. And it shouldnt have any place in the public discourse. But, that said, sadly it does."
On those who have harshly criticized Trump for his comments:
"The very same hypocrites that are supposedly outraged and offended by this are the very same people that I guarantee you were first in line to go watch 'Fifty Shades of Grey' to see if it was trashy as the book theyve read. And they probably listened to rap music on their way home to go play Grand Theft Auto with their kids and be encouraged to take other equally vulgar actions and language. Its the hypocrisy of it that Im offended by."
