Overdue library book returned to Centre College 185 years later

A book has been returned to the Centre College Library in Danville, Ky., -- 185 years after it was checked out.

The book is the second in the volume of a collection called "Ancient Civilizations."

It was discovered at the nearby Kentucky School for the Deaf with an inscription saying it was first put in the library in 1828.

The school believes it was checked out in the 1850's, because someone wrote the date "July 21, 1854" in the book.

It's the second time recently that Centre College has made the national news. Of course, the $6,000 in library fines pales in comparison to the $250 million dollar donation that they received. I imagine that Centre College will be charitable and waive the fine though.
