Kentucky lawyer says Colin Kaepernick is 'by definition racist'
A Kentucky lawyer who ran for the state Senate this year used his campaign page to blast Nike's decision to make former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick the face of its newest ad campaign, and asset Kaepernick is "by definition racist."
-snip-
Alex White, who ran as a Republican, asked Facebook followers on his campaign page what they thought about the Nike ad.
In the post, which has since been deleted, White said that Kaepernick is disrespecting U.S. military service members. He continued by saying communist dictators "should be hung and shot in public squares, not celebrated and worn on t-shirts."
White is referring to Kaepernick wearing a t-shirt during a post-game press conference two years ago that pictured a 1960 meeting between black nationalist leader Malcolm X and Cuban leader Fidel Castro.
"It's a mixed message whenever he says it's not about disrespecting the troops and yet he uses communist imagery in a lot of the stuff that he does," White told the Courier Journal in an interview on Wednesday.
