SPOTLIGHT RACE: Jeff Pittman for KS-SD05
Jeff Pittman is the state senator for Kansas Senate District 5, which covers Leavenworth, Piper, Lansing and Basehor. In the senate, he has been a voice for bipartisan compromise. Working with Republicans and Democrats, he helped deliver record tax relief for Kansans across the board, funded a veterans home in Northeast Kansas, and supported our police officers and firefighters.
Prior to becoming a state senator, he served two terms as the state representative for Leavenworth. Jeff reached across the aisle to repeal the Brownback Tax Experiment and restore funding for Kansas public schools.
Jeff currently serves on the Ways and Means Committee, the Joint Committee on Kansas Security, the Joint Committee on Fiduciary Financial Institutions Oversight, the Special Committee on Workforce Development, and the Subcommittee on Corrections and Public Safety.
Jeff grew up in Leavenworth and graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1989. As the son of a combat veteran, Jeffs family was stationed at Fort Leavenworth several times before calling Leavenworth home in 1984.
He lives with his wife, Holly, in Leavenworth where they are raising their three amazing children. Jeffs oldest daughter was this years Miss Kansas and placed top 20 at Miss USA. In his free time, you can find Jeff playing pickleball in the park, mowing the lawn, and walking their dogs, Kennedy and Pika.
