Kansas child protection agency made a mistake. Then Evan Brewer was killed.

Rightwingers disregard for children..dying to support the 2nd amendment,
and now dying because the hillbilly state of kansas ignores pleas from the
citizens concerning abuse...Betcha brownbutts budget cuts had something
to do with this....

For more than a year, people reported to the state that 3-year-old Evan Brewer was suffering in a home of chronic methamphetamine users – that the mother’s boyfriend choked the child until he became unconscious.

The grim details appear in an inch-thick stack of records released by the Kansas Department for Children and Families to The Eagle just before 5 p.m. Friday.

DCF, which investigates reports of child abuse and neglect, kept collecting and compiling reports: that Evan’s mother was regularly high on meth, staying in bed and not feeding him real meals.

And most disturbing: alleging that she was not protecting Evan from her abusive live-in boyfriend, who dragged her by her hair and bragged about choking her and her son. The abuse reached the point that the boy had accidents – he feared walking to the bathroom in the morning because he would have to pass the adults’ bedroom.

Google CPS failures, and you will find cases from throughout the country.

mm?

A former deputy director of the Kansas Department for Children and Families alleges the agency has a record of systematically underreporting child fatalities and of providing inaccurate information to the state’s Child Death Review Board.

The allegations emerged as new DCF Secretary Gina Meier-Hummel and Gov. Jeff Colyer publicly acknowledged mistakes were made in the past and that the administration was taking an aggressive approach to improving operations at DCF. DCF’s top administrator in Wichita was recently fired, and the agency conceded DCF documents were inappropriately altered regarding a 3-year-old Wichita boy found encased in concrete.

detailing 15 times across the country: Michigan, New York, Minnesota, Texas. etc. etc.

I read the article, and what happened to that little boy was obscene, but if you think it only happens in Kansas, or only in red states, think again. CPS is underfunded, social workers are overworked, and case loads are too high.

The post is only relative to ks...since, if you notice, this is a ks section of du..
Your 1st post lends me to believe you care little for the children of ks..If
I had intended to do a comparison across the country, I would have worded
that way. You trivialized this
