"Keep The Maps Fair" petition

A recent Kansas Congressional redistricting map created by Kansas House Speaker Rep. Mike O'Neal has taken Wyandotte and Leavenworth County from the 3rd Congressional district and placed them into the 1st Congressional district.

This is an obviously effort lead by O'Neal end the likely hood of the 3rd Congressional to go for a Democrat. Even worse it's a blatant attempt to dilute the minority vote represented in these counties. The 1st Congressional has always been historically central and western Kansas and primarily composed of rural areas.

O'Neal's creative map drawing takes a sliver of the state to connect the traditional 1st district communities to the urban areas in Wyandotte County. It makes no sense and is unfair to the electorate.

Sign the petition to tell Speaker O'Neal not to play games with the Congressional map and to keep the maps fair.

That's why I signed a petition to The Kansas State House, The Kansas State Senate, and Governor Sam Brownback, which says:

"We, the undersigned residents of Kansas, stand opposed to Speaker O'Neal's suggested congressional map that would place Wyandotte and Leavenworth counties into the 1st congressional district.

Furthermore, we oppose any attempt to place Wyandotte and Leavenworth counties as a whole or in part into the 1st congressional district.

We ask you stop playing games with redistricting. Keep the maps fair and focus on governing. Thank you."
